Gachantivá cycle of regional assemblies made
Successfully held the second round of regional assemblies Farmers Market, which in six games brought together nearly 500 producers in four provinces of central China, as well as members of the technical and political process and invited institutions and entities.
Assemblies were convened by the Committee for Peasant and Community Interaction (CICC) that integrates social organizations that lead the process of Farmers Markets, with the aim of strengthening the regional level work. In this regard, this initiative aims to strengthen local peasant committees (CCM) instance from being carried out activities for production development and marketing, promoting opportunities for training and education for the rural population, and advocacy efforts are promoted policy.
The assemblies were made considering the political situation to be presented in 2011, when election campaigns are approaching at the departmental, district and municipal levels, and this is where farmers are organized in the CCM should play a leading role.
Therefore, the purpose of the regional meetings of the CCM was led to the formulation of a strategy of dialogue and advocacy to the candidates with a view to signing contracts or agreements on the issues citizens of small and medium farmers, which would be included in development plans for the period 2012-2016.
Another element to which the assemblies had tried to do with the construction of agendas discussed and agreed to permit the implementation of local agreements to support the economy peasant, and progress in the formulation of proposed legislation in the departmental assemblies. Similarly, it was thought in some base guidelines for the organization of the CCM in the perspective of public policy and right to participation.

The cycle of meetings was ahead in the course of two weeks as follows: 29 November El Colegio (Cundinamarca) met representatives of 14 municipalities in the western department. Participants included officials from the Mayor and City Council and members of the Municipal Units of Agricultural Technical Assistance (Umatas).
On 30 November, Ibague (Tolima) , attended by producers in 24 municipalities of the department.
December 2 simultaneously sessioned assemblies Tunja (Boyacá) and Cáqueza (Cundinamarca). In the capital boyacense farmers were 25 municipalities and some councilors. In Cáqueza delegates deliberated eight municipalities, with the accompaniment of local guests.
In Zipaquirá (Cundinamarca) the fifth meeting was held on December 9, who welcomed delegates from 13 municipalities in the center of the department. There we had the special participation of the Assistant Secretary for Economic Development of Bogotá, the city government officials and other guests.
