Wording For A Memory Candle

Reflections after an evening at the 'Camp Solution'

I spent Sunday afternoon in the camp of the Puerta del Sol, swarming here and there, making the gossip, waving to a colleague or interested in any of the proposals of the campers. In the very heart of the camp, I could see in detail and carefully how things work and appreciate more details when you visit only one time. No exaggeration to say that was one of the most interesting evenings I remember lately: the fact that certain issues and try to see how a good number of young people is sacrificed for an ideal that they understand more than comfort, is priceless.

This visit has caused me some thoughts, based on what I experienced in 'Camp Solution', which I share with you, especially to contrast points of view, so that even when dealing with contradictory impressions, always bring new nuances that help us better understand what happens.

The first is that I think the phenomenon has oversized lot. The camp itself looks no more than a little fair-structure that wants to imitate, with the 'huts' on-line or small camp, not unlike what we have seen other times in other neighborhoods LavapiƩs Madrid, during the protests or celebrations of some groups. Another thing are the concentrations, which are certainly more relevant to the camping. Moreover, the number of the campers 'in situ' is not, of course, as high as might be imagined as a romantic story of the media. Almost all are working in the various 'houses' and simply 'are' like me that do not exceed fifty, being generous. It is true that the camp is always crowded, but the vast majority are onlookers, tourists, occasional visitors ... Vagrancy or like me, teacher style, romantic writers, and characters with starry hat, pipe and beard captain Ahab, the only thing they do is look and look and look ... and then depart. On the outskirts, people make pictures of the posters, shooting in the camp behind, etc. Indeed, few visitors are the assemblies. Anyway, the thing has become a little show or, better, in a sort of fair 'revolutionary'.

I have found curious at the same time shocking, the high degree of professionalization. As I said, most houses are attending in a way as diligent as any office, albeit with great kindness. But it seems dedicated to this, almost professionally. Everything is perfectly organized, and you have been in the camp in previous days, you can find that has been so since the first day. The different sections are perfectly designed, with a growing infrastructure properly. There are several nurseries located throughout the camp and even small luxuries like relaxing sessions, massages ... certainly make the sacrifice that much more bearable. No shortage of water spray dispensers, much needed by the sweltering heat that plastics are made from ceiling. There is also a reiki unit (which suggests the infiltration of cults pseudoorientalista) Finally, it is clear that spontaneous or not, the camp was well prepared, perhaps because it is something that the campers are involved. It is worth visiting the nursery (although not as many children as it may suggest the name) and the library. Another thing

to note is that while concentrations had a certain plurality (people of all ages, including elderly people center-left and far right of the PP in the camp ...), there is a feeling 'guidance' ideology. This is seen in the associations that are represented in their respective 'houses' and that gives this event its distinctive accent fair, in the terminology used in certain writings, the 'pose', etc. While the analysis of cartels is not clearly expressed any ideological slogan (in general, as there are some exceptions), it does beneath the tents a sense of 'class' or type of thinking. Some posters, perhaps inadvertently leak any political notion clearer, as those who speak against the 'system' and not the 'system'. There is a perception of 'class'.

also note some uncertainty in their petitions, which are general enough demagoguery (all we want are corruption, to reform the electoral law to make it fair, that no human being is illegal, the banks are not get away with it ... now, what concrete measures from the legal system and taking into account the laws of the real economy can and must take on this? I agree that Iceland is a model in many things ... but not without qualification, since each country has gears and characteristics.

Assembly "'constitutional' or Parlement parallel? Moreover, in all houses are displayed and shared, as if the 'flagship' or purpose of the move, information sheets with the intention to create neighborhood assemblies in all cities and towns of Spain Saturday 28 May. This, perhaps, is the most disturbing, but will have to see what happens. Having regard to the procedures to defend (the primary procedure asambleario show of hands, easily manipulated especially in small units like districts) I can not help suspecting that, at bottom, after the camp was not more than an attempt to assembly 'constitutional' or at least, of "parallel parliament ', the style of the' democracies' popular (you know, those that low aspirations as "universal peace" or "the radiant dawn of humanity 'just placing all freedoms and rights of citizens to the state). No doubt, given what I saw on Sunday afternoon, that the 'movement of the campers' not strong enough for that, even considering their amplification in other cities of Spain. But what worries me is innocent people in Spain, which is carried away by romantic ideals, a problem that is accentuated the lack of political culture (in the philosophical sense) of the average English (*).

In my opinion, one thing is clear that the camp is quite another Sun and the protest of the 'outraged', under whose protection, as a cover, is a refugee advocate social-political movement for the abolition of the current Democracy guarantees and not just 'anti', but with the system you are very well defined, which may be an appearance of plurality, but certainly not democratic pluralism that we all desire. An example of the appearance of plurality is the 'Commission of feminism': the mere fact of using the word 'feminism' denotes a sense of openness to different views feminism. But I got the impression (and it is only an impression, I admit, I did not try to check), that would not have much role to play there a woman to consider that abortion is not good for women.

However, I think, at least in theory, many aspects that are defended in the Sun camp-still-valid from different ideological approaches, but may differ in formulation. So if the camamento go ahead and, especially, if the assemblies are universally and large on Saturday, I doubt that much-more, it would be people of different ideologies or, with different sensitivities within the ideology in 'base' (and especially I think this affects the Christian left), involved there somehow, if not violated democracy with political proclamations contrary to the rights of freedom of conscience and democracy, clear or hidden.

As for the movement of the 'outraged', it appears that many have been manipulated, they are considered used ideologically. However, the organizers of the initial platform of 15-M I do not follow this development and hope that along with many others who have spent years defending the democratic improvements they ask, to find other avenues to express his "outrage."

(*) However, I really am a supporter, "and so I proposed to camp on the establishment of a 'Permanent Civic Forum', as a body and vote in Parliament. Details at: http://ferjimgon.blogspot.com/2011/05/propuesta-de-creacion-del-foro-civico.html
